Olimpick Games Friday 31st May, 2013 Dover's Hill, above Chipping Campden and overlooking the Vale of Evesham, is a beautiful plateau commanding extensive views from the plains of the Avon and the Severn to the foothills of the Welsh mountains. |
Tetbury Woolsack Races 25th May Running up a steep hill carrying a large sack of wool may not seem the most relaxing way to spend a Bank Holiday afternoon, but every year in Tetbury dozens of men and women do just that.
Woolsack Day has been an annual event in Tetbury for centuries, and is the final legacy of the town's once-lucrative wool trade.
It is thought that the event began (as is often the way with these things) when some local men, perhaps slightly inebriated, decided to impress the ladies with their strength and athleticism. |
Campden Music Festival May 5th - 18th Chipping Campden is rightly described as 'The Jewel of the Cotswolds'. St. James' church is the most glorious building in this 'Jewel' and the setting for our seventh annual Music Festival. |
Badminton Horse Trials 6th - 10th May Three-days of thrilling equestrian action will be taking place at the Badminton Horse Trials 2009, in Gloucestershire once again this spring. It is the premier horse trials event in the UK. |
